Sony HDR-CX115E review

Solid-state AVCHD cameras tend to be small but the CX115 is absolutely tiny. It's still comfortable to hold and use, though, with a familiar layout of buttons and touchscreen controls. The black finish looks smart, but it's also available in blue or red.

A well balanced, attractively priced AVCHD camera, but pipped to the post by the slightly better Panasonic HDC-SD60

Light, good value, CAMERA easy to use, image quality fine

Transfer to computer not so good - Sony's catalogue program has date taken OK, but Photoshop (commonest catalogue) shows date of transfer from camera instead there fore not maintaining correct sequence without changing all the dates, or transferring...

Sony Handycam HDR-CX115

Light, easy to use, good zoom, just take the flash card out place into computer and it downloads only those files not previously downloaded. Windows 7

Sometimes has a ripple on some films shot, may be as a result of the camera trying to focus on two points, near and far, soon picks up and stabilised This ripple effect is not on each shot, I would say on 2 per cent

Sony Handycam HDR-CX115

Easy to use with one hand, quick start-up for recording, reasonably light, battery charge sufficient most of the time. Good price on sale

Image quality is not up to HD standard & background lacks detail. TV HD broadcast is far superior. Small LCD screen makes it difficult to see clearly what you are recording, but that's the downside of having a small camera. Deleting a recording...
