Sony FDR-X3000

The Sony FDR-X3000 action cam records optically stabilized 4K footage, but it's not as easy to use or squeeze into small places as a GoPro.

4K recording with optical stabilization. 100Mbps XAVC S compression. In-body tripod mount. Protected from dust and splashes without case. Includes waterproof case. Standard mic input. Wi-Fi.

Sony X3000R, AS300R brings optical stabilization to Action Cams

If there was ever a camera type that desperately needed optical image stabilization, it's action cams. Oddly, though, it hasn't been available until now on the new 4K-resolution Sony Action Cam X3000R and full HD AS300.

Hands-on with the new Sony FDR-X3000 4K Action Cam

Should you get a dedicated action camera to record your exploits and holidays? This little 4K action camera by Sony should tempt you enough to ditch your smartphone camera for better footage.

Pros: The optical stabilization works great on 4k. It does a great job in creating a smooth video. The colors are very good if you have good light. Underwater videos are good and camera catches lively colors. Angle is very good and it's not rounding as...
