The Sony Handycam DCR-SX45, SX65, and SX85 are easy-to-use ultracompact camcorders with good active electronic image stabilization and a built-in USB cable for quick uploads.

The DCR-SX45, SX65, and SX85 produce very soft and noisy video with noticeable fringing on subjects even at small sizes. There are no mic or headphone jacks, and the electronic image stabilization won't help you with the lens fully extended.

Sony's Handycam DCR-SX45, SX65, and SX85 standard-definition camcorders pack a megazoom lens at a reasonable price; one look at the standard-definition video, though, and you might regret not spending a bit more for an HD model.

Small size and thus carrying.

The 70x zoom does give rise to picture wobble, even with the Steadyshot. Can't be helped. Also, I wish it had a roper viewfinder. Tried filmimg a bird in flight, very difficult with the screen and no viewfinder.

Quality of video is not that good, (nowhere near as good as my previous DV tape Sony Handycam). If you want quality, you will require a HD camcorder or a DV tape type, but video files will be much bigger.

My camera had a problem. Because I had bought it through EBay (new) Sony would not honour the warranty and wanted more money to fix it then the camera cost, which is ridiculous. I will never buy another Sony product.
