Sony bloggie PM5 review

For a company that's long been entrenched in the camcorder space, Sony's pocket video cameras have always been off target in terms of features and usability. The Bloggie MHS-PM5 minicamcorder, however, at least shows improvement and a better...

Rotating lens; 1080p, 720p, VGA video options; one-touch video uploading to YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook; removable lithium ion rechargeable battery.

No Mac support for Picture Motion Browser software; no HDMI output; mono mic and no input for an external mic.

Sony gains ground against the minicamcorder competition with the Bloggie MHS-PM5, but its software and overall video quality keep it from moving ahead.

Sony MHS-PM5K review

Sony's pocket-cam reboot, the ‘bloggie', has Full HD and shoots 360-degree movies. But can it make the Flip look a flop?

Perfect for video bloggers and a doddle to use, but image quality and design flaws spoil the party

Sony Bloggie PM5K

The Sony Bloggie PM5K is a mobile high-definition camcorder built to deliver 360 degree video capture. The diminutive camcorder shoots full HD 1920x1080 video, and takes 5 megapixel still photos. It'll let you upload videos to the web quickly and...

Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5K

Versatile, travel-friendly camcorder with decent still and video quality. However, the 360-degree image processing leaves a lot to be desired.

Compared to other models of this ilk, Sony's MHS-PM5K Bloggie certainly offers decent video and stills. The articulating lens makes shooting easy and creative and even the digital zoom gives better results than you'd expect, it's just a shame its...

Sony bloggie MHS-PM5

The Sony bloggie is a compact camcorder able to take five megapixel photos and record videos in full HD, which you can then easily load onto your Picasa web album or YouTube.

Easy to use and good quality photos and videos for its purpose

No flash, no optical zoom, no HDMI.

Sony Bloggie (MHS-PM5K) review

Sony arrived late to the straight-to-YouTube camcorder party, with Webbie -- a cute, but flawed rotating head cam. With no pop-out USB interface or SD Card compatibility, it simply couldn't compete. Bloggie, on the other hand, is getting VIP access on...

Review of Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5K camcorder

Good points: block shape means good for quick shots, irritating for long shots. The best video of the cameras we looked at. Fun swivel head and 360 degree adaptor for all-round photos. Drawbacks: Very fiddly getting videos off the camera - the only one...

Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5K HD pocket camcorder

A HD pocket camcorder with some interesting tricks up its extra-small sleeve

Good video in optimum conditions, attractive and sturdy design

Ghosting more prelevant than usual

The Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5K is a reasonable option for video bloggers and their assorted ilk. Serious videographers, on the other hand, will most likely need to look elsewhere.

Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5K Review

Sony's Bloggie MHS-P5K promises 360-degree motion panoramas, but produces nauseating footage unfit for human consumption.
