Moderate to low-light videos look cloudy; some awkward design choices; smallish LCD with terrible color reproduction; awful bundled software.

Despite its trio of CCDs, the video quality and performance of the Panasonic HDC-SD9 are a bit too inconsistent. Plus, we recommend avoiding this model until software support for it improves.

The Panasonic HDC-SD9 is one of the smallest and lightest full-size camcorders we've tested, and yet it still manages to pack in a good number of features -- you can even manually adjust aperture and shutter speed, which is unusual in this class

The Panasonic HDC-SD9's compact size is great and it's relatively inexpensive, which is always a good thing. But despite its trio of CCDs, the video quality and performance are too inconsistent for us to give it a full thumbs-up

My application might be a little more harsher...

Size is exceptional, with just about all the right components (not necessarily placed in the right spot). Great potential going forward for 3 ccd plaform in this size format. Looking forward to future products from Panasonic.

Contrast, color saturation, no external connectors (mic, headphones), no hood for filming, no hotshoe for eternal components (oh ya, I already mentioned that), unacceptable editing software.
