JVC GZ-MG57EK review

The GZ-MG57EK is the smallest and lightest camera in the group, so it's ideal if you need to carry your camcorder regularly.

Hard disk camcorders such as this let you record hours of video without having to worry about tapes or discs.

JVC Everio GZ-MG57

Huge recording times, good range of manual options, great design

Only average quality video, small still shots

Once again the Everio design impresses us, but the video quality isn't as good as we'd like with this unit.

JVC Everio GZ-MG57

Small and well-designed; stores 7 hours of video.

Mediocre video and still photo quality; sluggish autofocus.

Though small and well designed, the JVC Everio GZ-MG57's performance and video quality can't match the competitions'.

Though small and well designed, the JVC Everio GZ-MG57's performance and video quality can't match the competition's.

Small and well-designed ; Stores 7 hours of video

Mediocre video and still photo quality ; Sluggish autofocus

When it lacked competition, the JVC Everio GZ-MG57 might have merited a salutary recommendation. But in its price range, the Sony Handycam DCR-SR40 (which has an identical RRP) is really the better choice now.

JVC Everio GZ-MG57

This little camera is perfect for what I want... which is better then Mini DV or VHS quality... medium quality pictures that are middling in size for web pages... and the ability to put together WIDESCREEN DVD's without having to have a engineering...

Good alround performer; good bang for buck; reasonable pictures; good colour depth and auto-focus

It all depends on what you want to use it for... they made telemovies on less than these ten years ago! :-)

Easy to handle. Ergonomic. User friendly and feature packed

Need a second battery as the one supplied has a max charge life of 60mins. Hopefully one day the batteries supplied will be alot better
