GoPro HD Hero

When it comes to making video where other cameras dare not tread, there is one leader. It's the GoPro HD Hero. Everything from gnarly extreme sports types right up to TV production companies make use of this tiny little camcorder. For less than £200...

Sensible price, lots of accessories available, rugged, beautiful images in good light

Screen is optional extra, waterproof housing can be a faff, not well suited to normal video camera activity

For less than £200 you can get an HD camcorder that produces vivid, high-quality, 1080p video.

GoPro HD Hero review and helmet cam face-off

What's this, another tiny, high-definition camera to strap onto your person before doing something wild and crazy? Yes, it's the latest pixel-pushing

Great image and audio quality ; Wide lens captures all the action ; Waterproof case is included

Flimsy, unreliable mounts ; Difficult to use with gloves on ; Confusing menu

GoPro Hero 3

The GoPro Hero 3 Silver and White editions are strong contenders in the sports-camera market, but the faster, more powerful Black Edition is head and shoulders the best sports camera on the market today.

Smaller, lighter than previous Hero 2 ; Built-in Wi-Fi ; Black Edition offers a number of ultra-high-resolution capture modes and high frame rates for standard HD resolutions ; Burst speeds for still photos has been greatly improved

Control scheme has a longer learning curve than the Contour cameras ; Only 15fps on 4K video renders this selling point mostly moot for action videography

GoPro HD Hero

This one tip will make your videos better: Move the camera to meet your subject. If you're shooting children, get low. If you're shooting skyscrapers, try an aerial view. And if you're shooting a surf sequence, find the nearest point break and get into...

Good quality build; fine image quality; convenient size; reasonable price

Auto-everything can produce funky exposure; clunky menu system; no LCD

Australian Macworld’s buying advice. The HD Hero is for people willing to invest a little extra time to get shots that would otherwise be prohibitively expensive, or risky, to film. It’s a godsend to those who don’t want to risk trashing an expensive...

GoPro HERO HD Cam

I probably wouldn't have believed it if I had not seen it for myself. I know there are many pint sized cams on the market but this one really surprised me. I was on a shoot in N.Carolina a few weeks ago filming the sand tiger sharks on some WWII wrecks...

While not strictly intended to be an underwater camcorder the GoPro HERO HD still took some very commendable shots. Topside, though its light weight demands a very steady hand, is where the GoPro HERO HD really shines. Shooting in 1080p produced some...

GoPro Motorsports HD Hero Review

GoPro Motorsports HD Hero is a successor to GoPro Hero. The latter was a good camera but it had some serious issues in it like battery problems, standard definition video quality. And there was ContourHD which had give GoPro Hero a stiff...

Good photo/video quality, large number of mounting options and replacement parts, shockproof, waterproof

No viewfinder, tiny LCD display, two button interface menu, bad performance in low light conditions

GoPro Motorsports HD Hero has a great video and photograph quality. There are lots of mounting options and is shock proof and waterproof. Buy it if you don't mind the tiny screen and the two button interface.
