Flip Video Ultra Edition camcorder

Ever since "happy slapping" caused a media furore in 2005, video on the move has been in the public eye. But filming with a phone is such a bore and camcorders are too big and expensive. What's the solution? Well Flip Video think they have the answer,...

Simple concept, portable, great fun

No lens cover, limited software shortcuts, audio buzz

This is a concept we like – it is so simple to shoot and share video with this pocketable device. The approach is easier than using a mobile phone and the results are better, so you are more likely to do it. Also, you can go from pocket to filming in...

Flip Video Ultra review: Flip Video Ultra

Flip Video Ultra

With its Flip Ultra series, Pure Digital has upgraded the design, video quality, viewing LCD, and software of its lightweight video camera that makes it very easy to capture and share low-resolution video via e-mail and the Web; we also appreciated...

No SD/MMC card expansion slot; don't expect video quality to match that of a MiniDV camcorder's. The Muvee editing features only work with PCs, not Macs.

With improved video quality, a slightly trimmer design, and upgraded software package, the Flip Video Ultra is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the emerging low-end digital camcorder category.

A poor $30 camera

Flip sure knows how to market to the dumb masses

This camera like everything else Flip branded is a marketing driven ripoff. Not even as good as most camera's costing half as much in every way that could matter when it comes to making a decent video. Blurry, poor motion capture, horrid low light...

Good camcorder with lousy strap

Easy to use. So far, it has been exactly what I wanted - something to take good quality short videos of our new baby. It has been a snap to put the videos on YouTube to share with family

The only downside I see is that the wrist strap is useless. It connects to the Flip by threading it through the bottom, and that would be fine except that the strap also has a loop that screws on and off. The threads are weak and it doesn't hold...

Very Happy

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to newegg for being so professional with shipping. I purchased 2day shipping and thought it would prob be 3days because I ordered it too late in the afternoon (45min after shipping deadline). I was suprised to see the...

My wife and I are very pleased with this camcorder. I recorded almost all of my son's first YMCA soccer game this last weekend and all the videos turned out great. The viewing screen was easy to see in all conditions, the camera is easy to operate, and...

Good for kids of all ages

The rechargeable batteries are a must, and having a couple of backup AA's would be prudent. Though many cameras do not have one, an input connection for an external microphone would be nice.

Price: I bought 4 of these cameras with money from a grant for the students in my classes ; Easy: The students love to use these for reports because they're easy to use. The videos are saved on the internal memory and hard to delete by accident ;...

Maybe it's me, but I'm not sure if it can pause while recording. The "flip" out usb connector seems like a gimmick ; I would've liked a simple usb or firewire connector. It only records into H.264, which works with the installed software but not...

Best Bang for your Money

I bought a so called 1080p camcorder that really did have a nice picture, IF you didn't move around at all. It would be very fuzzy when it was moved, whether you were inside or out. I returned the camcorder back to the store and decided to try out a...

The screen itself is very bright, even in the sunlight, it is very visible. The resolution that it has on that tiny screen is unbelievable. It Shakes a bit less then the HD version of this camera, probably due to the lens being better. Uses AA...

It doesn't have expandable memory, which kind of is a bummer
