Creative Vado Pocket Video Cam

Creative's Vado Pocket Video Cam is slim, keenly priced, and has a unique trick up its sleeve.

Creative Vado HD review

The three-way tussle between Kodak, Flip and Creative for the pocket camcorder crown has reached boiling point. After Kodak's Zi6 had the temerity to offer 720p recording, its competitors have been forced to introduce hi-def models – hence the imminent...

Creative Vado HD review

Creative flips Mino the bird with this HD-shooting, HDMI-outputting, battery-swapping, software-packing 8GB Flash memory camcorder . But how does it compare with the big boys?

The not-so-daft Vado is in the same league as Flip’s Mino HD. It isn’t quite a clone war: the Vado HD boasts twice the storage (8GB), a larger (two-inch) screen, removable battery and custom HDMI connector for instant plasma screen playback. The Vado...

Okay, so we’ve established that it’s HD, but it’s not exactly what we’d imagine hotshot directors would use – its colours are wobbly, motion’s juddery and audio is faint. Also there’s no video light, autofocus or zoom lens. But that’s to be expected...

Creative Vado

Creative Vado Posted on 9 Dec 2008 at 11:03 Take Creative's tiny Vado. This is about as far from the traditional camcorder design as you're likely to get,yet it's capable of producing decent video.

Creative Vado Pocket Video Cam

Sleek and slim design. Low price. Large screen. Rechargeable battery. Easy-to-use software

Poor uploaded video quality. Subpar mic

Creative's Vado improves on its prototype, the Flip Ultra mini camcorder, in a number of ways, including design and price, but its choppy video quality may be too much to overlook.

Creative Vado HD Review

As with the original Creative Vado, we feel that the $229 Vado HD bests its competitors in many categories--slimness, internal storage, and the inclusion of both an HDMI port and cable. Our 720p video showed an impressive amount of detail, however, the...

Slim, lightweight design, Detailed 720p video with smooth zoom action, 8GB internal storage, Includes an HDMI cable

Relatively expensive, Video is dimmer than competitors', Audio consistently cuts out before the video ends, Onboard software doesn't run on Macs

Creative Vado HD Pocket Camcorder Review

Although small in size, the Creative Vado is an easy grab-and-go camera. The buttons are easy to use, the battery life is long and it's fun shooting big HD clips for such a small price.

Small, Easy to use, Great included accessories, Good battery life

No image stabilization, No expandable memory slot
