Canon HG10

By (cnet.com)

The Canon HG10 camcorder has excellent image stabilization and generally great video quality.

Poor audio control; smallish EVF; some annoying ergonomics; no manual focus dial.

A solid hard-drive based HD camcorder, the Canon HG10 nevertheless has its share of annoying quirks.

Canon HG10

By Lori Grunin (cnet.co.uk)

The Canon HG10, the hard drive-based, AVCHD-compatible camcorder, takes some chances. For starters, it has one of the most comfortable zoom switches in its class. Plus, upping its low-light performance, both focus and video quality, means it goes beyond o...

"Great Quality Shots at a Good Value"

Good HD quality. Simple shooting controls. Feels comfortable in your hand. nice LCD screen and plenty of decent PC/TV connectivity options.

Switching from camcorder to camera modes (both to shoot and view) could be a bit easier. It should come with a shoulder strap (have to buy it separate). Picks up wind a bit more than you'd want but not intolerable.

Wonderful video quality

Support for AVCHD format is still a little hard to come by.
