Canon Elura review:

Very compact; vibrant color; big zoom range.

Average in low light; poor button layout; badly placed jog dial.

A winner when it comes to size, price, and quality, the Canon Elura 90 is an excellent choice if you're looking for a compact MiniDV camera and don't mind occasionally fumbling with awkward controls.

Canon Elura 90

CCDType: Single CCD, Video Recording Format: DV Tape

Good exposure for both video and stills. Built-in flash. 20X optical zoom. Excellent autofocus.

Video resolution could be a bit higher. Poor button placement.

Sturdy and versatile, this digital camcorder offers shooters very good video quality and decent ease of use. Just don't plan on leaving your digital still camera at home.

Canon Elura 60

Easy to operate. 14X optical zoom. 2.5-inch LCD. Adjustable EVF. Decent video quality. Has an SD slot for still captures. Offers manual adjustments

Mediocre still-image capture. Lack of headlight, hot shoe, or flash makes low-light shooting problematic

A worthy device for the price, the Canon Elura 60 is extremely easy to operate, with decent video quality. It's a little light on the features (such as flash and autofocus assist lamp) usually found in more expensive devices, however.

Canon Elura 90 Mini DV Camcorder

Canon has put the buttons and controls on this camcorder in easy to reach areas. One thing we've noticed throughout other model lines this year is the differing location of the Set dial and Menu button. On the Elura 90 these controls rest at the front...

Low Light LCD interferes with Set Dial

The lab tests revealed that the color balance is also good, with slightly over saturated reds. Despite having a saturated red level, we noticed that the blue and cooler colors were also strong. Overall we were quite please with the color reproduction...

Decent middle-level DV

Decent middle-level DV, well build, good for most home users.

Balance of great video and acceptable still image quality. Good Canon 34mm video lens with 20X optical zoom. Excellent Macro mode for small object, focus well at 3cm. External Mic input.

Low light still not so good, wish could improve at Elura100. Bad arranged control key, not user friendly. A little bit slow zoom, not very smooth even at long side(near 20X). Not support MPEG4
