meh...

It's great if you want your entire video to look and sound like it was taken by a mud-skipper.

It takes video. It takes pictures. It uses SD cards. It has a rechargeable battery that lasts long enough(more than an hour, less than five.)

The autofocus ruins everything. The device menus are weird and difficult to navigate. The zoom is disappointing. It needs a silly amount of light to work properly. You cannot adjust the amount of light that it takes in. Sound quality is only as good as...

Extremeley Simple, Easy to Use, Decent Image Quality

I got this for an old woman who was travelling, and hardly new how to use a computer. She's a non-native English speaker, and it took me less than an hour to show her everything, and she was comfortable using it.

Low Price Integrated USB connector

I'm kinda nit-picking here, but: Composite and Component video use two separate 1/8"/3.5mm TRRS connectors. They are labeled ,but you have to read the labels. (It's like having a headphone and mic port that look the same) A slightly better screen...

Quality Control is Poor

HDMI, Composite, and USB interface

Bought 8 of these for our lab. 2 of them have a dark spot in the middle of the image (seems to be a defect in the CCD). 2 of them have Zoom controls that stick. 1 of them has random flickering lines in the LCD. A >50% defect rate is pretty poor

For $129, eh, video is okay. Not recommended however.

Um, well not many. It looks good from the outside, but quailty is not a strong point of this camera.

Well, the audio is terrible. Any kind of loud noise will just screw the audio.

Nice affordable camcorder

I dropped this camera off of Batman the coaster. It did not survive, but then again there is nothing to protect the exposed lens. I will most likely buy the same unit again, however the tunnel vision view on close up is a major factor in deciding. I...

For < 100, this is probably the best camera on Newegg. The video quality is very good in daylight. FPS is accurate at around 30. This thing is small enough to put in a pants pocket and the LCD does swivel. I have to admit, the still shots were...

The most annoying thing about the camera was the zoom, and the lack of zoom. In regular mode, the lens is already at 2x, so when you are taking video at just a few feet away, you already feel like you're zooming up on the person's face. It's terrible...

1440x1080i HDV

Digital zoom is worthless if you edit your video (at least to get rid of goofs), as it just stretches the picture making details look coarse. Optical zoom gives you much more detail as you zoom in. Mid-level editing software should let you digitally...

Bargain price. Disclosure: I didn't buy this, but I thought I could clarify a couple of points for you all. A poor lens on an HD camcorder will give you an SD-quality image. It would be helpful if reviewers spoke to this. An HD camcorder image should...

No optical zoom. A dealbreaker for me. 1440x1080i recording, not really noticeable.

Looks good so far....

When the SD card is inserted in the base of the unit, it displaces a spring-loaded door...the edge of the SD card is visible and there's a potential for sand and other small contaminants to get in (be careful where you put it down). The placement of...

Low price (shellshocker), small in size, simple to use, records on SD/SDHC cards, comes with necessary cables and 4GB SDHC card (mine was class 4).

Easy to use, but setup controls aren't necessarily intuitive. I'd like to turn down or mute the system sounds (startup, button press), but that doesn't seem to be an option.

Fantastic Value for Money

You can pretty much ignore the cons, since for $150 you simply cannot beat this camera. The lack of a lens cover or shutter means that it will scratch unless put in case. For someone who wants a spare camera to shoot decent footage in potentially...

true 1080p at a very low price point. .mov files for in depth editing on almost any system. Touch screen viewfinder. Playback on camera, HDMI. Can accept a trickle charge from a USB cable plugged into the computer. 12Mpix Max still photos. Photo button...

short battery life @ 1080p. MUST read manual to truly understand device. Modern chintzy design, drop it and it's done for. NO CAMERA LENS Shutter, comes with carrying case. Windows Live Essentials Importing from camera is tedious due to the camera...
