Toshiba BDX2150 Blu-ray Player Reviewed

Toshiba has offered a very value oriented player in the company's BDX2150 Blu-ray player. Yet, the player does support a pretty impressive amount of features given its very small price tag.

The BDX2150 supports BD-Live and BonusView Blu-ray features ; Toshiba has added more services to its Web platform this year, including CinemaNow and YouTube. You can also stream content from a network-connected server ; The BDX2150 offers internal...

The BDX2150 does not support 3D playback ; The player lacks analog A/V outputs, so it's not the best choice for someone who owns an older TV or A/V receiver ; It does not have integrated WiFi; the optional USB WiFi adapter costs $50 ; The player lacks...

Toshiba's new BDX2150 is a value-oriented player that's designed to provide the Blu-ray essentials at a budget price. In addition to Blu-ray playback, you get a nice assortment of Web-based services; Toshiba's platform isn't as extensive or...

Disappointing

thin, lt. weight

Very disappointed in this 'Toshiba' device...which I have considered high quality in the past. The disc loading process is extremely loud, and after the 4th month it would not turn on with the buttons or remote. Every time, I have to unplug & re-plug...

Nope...

I'll have to track down Toshiba I guess, in order to try to get some warranty service...grumble...grumble...

It still works, to some degree

I bought it 8+ months ago. I now have to unplug it daily, in order to keep it working

IR receiver died

You get what you pay for, I suppose.

Features, HDMI, compact size

IR receiver died. Replaced remote with factory/OEM model but made no difference. Disassembled and found the IR receiver to have been mounted poorly, and will only receive signals if the remote (with fresh Duracells, with verified voltage) is held...

Toshiba Blu-ray Player BDX2150

I would have purchased another brand instead of being on that is so restrictive in use of accessories

The Player is a good Blu-ray Player with great features and a very slim profile

Wifi is misleading, in that it requires a special Toshiba Wirless adpter, that you do not find out about until you open the packaging to read

Barely Functional

Unplugging and replugging makes it work for a while.

Good price

Frequently locks up, skips when playing from discs, loses A/V sync when streaming

Meh

Bought it as a Mother's Day present, and my mom not being tech saavy pressed the Open/Close button before turning the unit on. The disc tray opened and turned the player on, but the video would not display. She thought it was broken, but it needed to...

Internet connectivity

doesn't feel sturdy, loud, lags with some Disney BluRays, not worth the price, some of the apps are slow

It is what it is.

I bought this a few months ago right after I got my Google TV. I just needed something for BluRay and that is exactly what this is. I use the TV for Pandora, Netflix, etc., and I have never even connected this player to the Internet, but I have had no...

Cost, ease of use, picture quality

None for me
