Samsung BD-J5500 review

Well-rounded Blu-ray player, but it won't quite top your shortlist

Sharp, clean picture ; Motion well controlled ; Good with 3D ; Decent remote ; Interesting design

Rivals have more picture subtlety ; A little noisy

Not ahead of the curve performance-wise, but a decent disc spinner

Samsung BDJ5500 3D Smart Blu-ray

Great player for the price, being used with a projector and picture quality is fantastic, only downside is no on/off/standby light on the front of the player, not a major issue, you'll either have a picture or you won't.

Best Value

I only needed a blu ray player to watch a blu ray disc bought without looking at the label. It prompted me to upgrade my home cinema system. one bonus is that the BBCi player facility is a lot faster than my Vigin Tivo box!. I have always liked Samsung...

Affordable no frills player

A budget entry basic blu ray player from Samsung. Light weight and easy to set up..doesn't come with hdmi cable though and no light to indicate if its powered on or not... Still decent image on blu ray and dvd..

Great Value For money. The only thing I would have liked is a light to know it's on.

No dvd playback + needs wired Internet connection

Don't bother buying it. 1) You need a wired Internet connection - in other words you have to find/use wires from your router etc to the dvd player as well as plug into wall etc. 2) Very frustrating set up and it did not play any dvd's we had. Sent it back
