3D and wired access to Netflix justify the price, but other apps are in short supply

3D playback ; Netflix & BBC iPlayer ; 2D and 3D images ; MKV playback ; Quick disc loading

Just eight apps ; No 4OD or Demand Five ; USB stick required ; No WiFi

3D and stunning visuals appeal, but with a lack of WiFi and a poor selection of apps, the DMP-BDT160 isn't the smart upgrade it should be. Best seen as a great quality Blu-ray upgrade for a second room.

Panasonic DMP-BDT160EB review

This entry-level Blu-Ray player is cheap and includes 3D playback and Smart TV, but connectivity options are limited.

We like the low price of the DMP-BDT160, and we like the fact that it plays 3D disks and includes some Smart TV functions. But connectivity is very limited, with no Wi-Fi and no audio output. There's not much in the way of Catch-Up TV either.

Simple - Easy to Use

Easy to set up and use. Inconspicuous too. Why pay more? (It would be better still if an HDMI cable was included and/or it was clearer when you bought it that an HDMI cable is needed.)
