Olympus Zuiko Digital 14-54 mm f/2.8-3.5

By Logbi (lenstip.com) Read the full review

I bought this lens used, and for the money, it is one of the finest lens ever made, whatever format it is. It is a very capable performer and with the built-in stabilization of recent bodies takes the use of this lens even further.

Sharp even at widest apertures and across the focal range, relatively cheap (especially used), Fast AF, Barely visible distortion, tough build

Slight vignetting, Chromic Aberration

The whole lens adds another 100g of weight in comparision to the 14-54, however, the image quality and the versatile focal lenght of 12 to 60mm makes it truly worth.I have it on my E-620. Well balanced, tack sharp, fast AF makes this to one of the most...

Olympus Zuiko Digital 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5

By Jon Tarrant (whatdigitalcamera.com)

The solid build quality of this 14-54mm zoom, coupled with its relatively wide f/2.8 maximum aperture, mark it out as a lens intended for serious use...

Stunning resolution for a standard zoom

Slight chromatic aberration

Overall, this is a great lens that offers both a wide zoom range and excellent resolution. Though there are a few niggles, the 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 is likely to impress heavyweight users with both its on-paper specification and its real-world capabilities.

Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD Lens Review

By Andy Westlake (dpreview.com)

The Digital Zuiko ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD is Olympus's latest upmarket standard zoom, announced to accompany its E-3 flagship DSLR in October 2007. Firmly placed in what Olympus refers to as its 'Pro' lens lineup, this lens offers a near-ideal focal...

Very useful wideangle to telephoto range ; Superb optics ; Excellent build quality, dust and splash-proof ; Impressive resistance to flare ; Decent macro performance

Pronounced and complex distortion at wideangle ; Slightly sub-par lens hood ; Shadowing of built-in flash at wideangle on smaller bodies ; Expensive

Olympus were in a unique position when entering the digital SLR market; with no legacy 35mm autofocus mount, they were free (or depending upon your point of view, forced) to design a whole new system from scratch. Their chosen solution was to use a...

Clearly Olympus has adopted a "no holds barred" approach to lens design here, which can only be applauded.

Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm SWD review

By Gordon Laing (cameralabs.com)

The Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm is quite simply one of the best quality zoom lenses we've tested to date. Its optical performance is superb, delivering very sharp results across the frame at all focal lengths. The SWD auto-focusing is very quick and...

Pricier than official kit lenses, Corner sharpness issues, DX 17-55mm f2.8 is brighter (but pricey), , No VR - so watch out for shake at 135mm, Below average geometric distortion, Only sold in bundle with new body, Nikkor DX 18-200mm more...

The lens itself is well-built, dust and splash-proof, while its flexible 5x range and bright f2.8-4 aperture will satisfy most photographers for day-to-day use.
