Fantastic sound for this type of system ; Exceedingly easy to use user interface ; Comprehensive remote control ; Great VFM when compared to other similar systems (Vita Audio)

I'm starting to think buying this at the price above was a mistake. I'm comparing it to the Bose Wave Radio, which is 100 dollars more. This system is confused as to whether or not its a fancy clock radio or a shelf system. For the price it should have...
Minimalist design ; CD Player ; iPod Dock built-in ; A lot more features then the Bose Wave Radio ; USB port for the 2 people that still don't have an iPod
Lackluster sound ; No AM radio tuner ; Need the remote to set the clock, use the DSP or mute the device

It may be little more than a glorified clock radio, but has the TSX-130 got what it takes to be the perfect bedtime buddy?
The Yamaha mixes form and function well, but we can't help but hanker after a bit more control

The bedroom is often left out when it comes to be fitted with a quality audio set-up, which is no surprise, really. As living spaces follow the modelling world's lead and shrink to a size zero, we really don't have the room to install huge separates...
However, the Yamaha TSX-130 has been touted as an excellent alternative and happy medium between high-quality stack systems or poor-sounding clock radios. With prices starting from around £300, the TSX-130 is expensive for what is essentially a bedside...

The Yamaha TSX-130 is expensive, but if you can afford the £300-odd for one, it will be an excellent investment. I wouldn’t place it solely in the bedroom either – this stereo would happily grace the living rooms/entertainment rooms of most households....

The Yamaha TSX-130 is an all-in-one audio system with CD player, FM and DAB radios and iPod/MP3 player dock. Stereo 2x15W, 8cm speakers and bass reflex port. It's also a clock radio. It weighs 4kg.
When this bedroom system is rocking, don’t come knocking. The CD player draws on Yamaha’s disc-spinning expertise to pump out solid, assured tones, while the media dock does a great job of giving digital tunes depth and spaciousness. Thanks to a...
At four kilos heavy and 35cm wide, the TSX-130 threatens to collapse any but the most substantial bedside table. Yamaha tries to make a feature of its bulk by touting a ‘convenient real wood flat top’ for storage – but you’d have to be an extremely...
Overweight, over-powered and over-priced for most bedrooms, the TSX-130 might have the brawn (and the beauty) to muscle its way into your living room instead.

Pure's doing a neat line in cranking out sharp, affordable bedside buddies. Just look at the slick new Chronos II iDock. But what if you want something with a bit more oomph? Well that's where this Yamaha TSX-130 comes in. It does all that alarm...
Great sound, more features than any clock radio we've ever played with
Bulky, too big for a bedside table
It might weigh a ton but this clock radio is ace: just make sure you stick it on your lounge

A quality arrival on the iPod dock market that's lively, versatile and sonically appealing
Agreed, it isn't cheap and some movement in the price might be necessary for this dock to make a big splash. However, the TX-130 delivers enough functionality, control, information and sound quality to hold its own and marks an interesting new chapter...

The Yamaha TSX-130 digital radio looks good, sounds great and can play tracks from a range of sources. It's a little expensive, though.

Yamaha's latest shelf speaker can rock the house(or at least a big room). You'll just have just part ways with a lot of cash to get there.
The “b” in USB here stands for “belongs on top, not in the back.” USB handles MP3 and WMA formats easily. Clean, understated design lines. Short and shallow enough to fit on many bookcases. Dimmable display perfect for bedtime “dance” parties....
Not loud enough for really big spaces (read anything larger than 20 x 20 feet). Remote control required to set time and date. Screwdriver required to change remote control’s batteries. A bit large for smaller bedside tables. Bass has enough kick to...
