Jawbone UP2

Jawbone recently introduced a new version of its UP2 activity tracker, which addresses some of the issues I experienced with the first model. Here's how things have changed with the new UP2 and why the score has been reviewed.

Still offers a more insightful ecosystem than rivals ; Battery will get you through a week's use ; Second generation UP2 offers more secure fit

New design not as elegant as UP24 ; Difficult to activate sleep tracking or switch modes ; Difficult to activate sleep tracking or switch modes

Despite its unique approach to analysing your data, Jawbone's design overhaul of the UP2 activity tracker leaves us disappointed.

Jawbone UP2 review

If it was up to Jawbone, everyone would wear an UP2

Sleek, stylish design ; Great app ; Week-long battery life

Terrible charger ; Temperamental touchscreen ; Compatibility issues with Android

A solid product for the money, but seems like a step backwards from last year's UP24.

Jawbone UP2 review: like the UP3 but cheaper

Look good in the day, track every detail during the night with this step-and-sleep lifestyle tracker

Attractive design ; Excellent app ; Detailed sleep tracking

Not waterproof ; Doesn't really do a lot ; Annoying clasp

Jawbone Up2 review: A better fit and superior software make the redesigned Up2 a winner

While there is no heart-rate sensor or display, the redesigned Up2 is the most full-fledged yet affordable way to access Jawbone's superior software.

The Up2 provides simple activity and automatic sleep tracking in a slim and fashionable design. The band has good battery life and can be worn in the shower. The Jawbone mobile app includes smart coaching and can be paired with many popular third-party...

It doesn't have a display to quickly check fitness progress and there's no heart-rate tracking. The sleep tracking tends to overestimate and the band can't be worn while swimming.

A better fit and superior software make the redesigned Jawbone Up2 our favorite everyday fitness band.

Jawbone UP2 review

We really like the successor to the Jawbone UP24: read our Jawbone UP2 review to find out why

Leaving aside the somewhat feminine look of the grey-and-silver model I really like the UP2. It is comfortable to wear and robust. And it is well priced. Most importantly, the new UP app builds on the success of its predecessor, and is a great way of...

Jawbone UP2 review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Jawbone UP2 is a simple-looking fitness band that's available in a variety of colours and with a choice of two straps. It doesn't have a screen and isn't waterproof, but monitors your speed, distance, calories and sleep. So does it track your data...

Jawbone UP2 wristband activity tracker

Record your own daily activity, and compete against your mates

Slim and light design ; Impressive app interface ; Smart coach and social feed are great motivators

Buckle a little awkward for us ; Logging food can be a chore ; Best results obtained when wearing it all the time

Jawbone UP2

The Jawbone UP2 fitness tracker looks great on the wrist and comes with a neat app that actually gives you recommendations about your lifestyle, but it's lacking in features compared with the competition.

Stylish design. Comfortable. Helpful Smart Coach feature.

No real display. Finicky tap input mechanism. Not swim-proof.

A Better UP, but Missing FeaturesThe Jawbone UP2 is better than the older versions of the UP bands, but compared with similar fitness trackers, it's light on features. The UP3 is better, but you can get more for your money with another tracker. If...

Jawbone Up2 review: a great basic fitness tracker

"Fitbit, Apple Watch, or Jawbone. What should I get?" This question, a real one my mom asked me a couple weeks ago, nearly made me launch into an hour-long conversation about wearables. I...

Small, comfortable design ; Great Jawbone software ; Long battery life

Not completely waterproof ; Fiddly clasp
