Faster than even some low-end lasers, the Canon Pixma iP4500 inkjet printer generates great text and photos.
The Canon Pixma iP4500 offers excellent speed, sharp print quality, and useful features for a good price. If your colour output tends more toward photos and graphics than charts and memos, it could be a good alternative to an entry-level colour laser.

Not everybody needs the extra functions provided by an all-in-one printer. Single-function printers, without integral scanners, are a bit smaller and a bit cheaper, and Canon's PIXMA iP4500 comes in with a street price of just ...
If you don't need the extra facilities of an all-in-one printer, this is a very good single-function machine at an impressive price. Single-function in this context means no scanner, but you can still print on plain paper, glossy photo blanks and CDs ...

Award: A-List!
A brilliant performer, particularly in terms of photo image quality. It's superb value, too.
Our real-world tests show that print costs aren't the cheapest at 11.6c per A4 page, but when the iP4500 excels at printing just about anything - and is cheaper than the outgoing iP5300, which it replaces - a place on the A-List is assured.
Canon's Pixma iP4500 boasts some fearsome specifications for $173: built-in duplexer; two paper trays, allowing you to either use the top-loading paper tray or the paper cassette built into the bottom of the unit; and a plastic adapter for...

Manufacturers appear to be falling over themselves to offer printers as cheap as chips these days. Feature-light budget printers are everywhere to be found, like the Epson D92, which costs just £30 but still arrives with £25 of free ink, or Canon's ...
Fast for the price, Duplex printer, Crisp text, Great photos
No LCD or card slots, Watch those ink costs
An inexpensive quality printer that clearly outperforms its many low-budget peers
A bargain printer, the iP4500 uses Canon's unique line-up of five ChromaLife 100 inks, combining dye-based cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks with a second, pigment-based black ink. The system works so well in practise that Canon has now dropped...

Dedicated inkjet photo printers still have their advantages. Is this the best one available for less than £70
Overall, the iP4500 is an excellent printer for the money and should be well up your shortlist of budget ink-jets.
Canon's new PIXMA iP4500 includes duplex printing, a PictBridge camera socket, dual paper trays and CD/DVD print facilities in a machine costing under £70. Just about all Canon's printers and all-in-ones have the same silver and gloss-black...
