It looks like the best 20in widescreen monitor may be a 21in widescreen monitor.
The SyncMaster 215TW may sport the same resolution as standard 20in widescreen monitors, but it outguns the competition in pretty much every area. The amount of inputs on offer is unprecedented and gives you the option of connecting gaming consoles ...
But Samsung has pushed this concept just a little bit further with the SyncMaster 215TW, which sports a 21in widescreen panel rather than the more usual 20in. I know this because right now I have the 215TW sitting on my desk next to the SyncMaster...

As you might have guessed from the model number, Samsung's latest TFT isn't the usual, run of the mill, 20.1-inch panel, but a 21-inch widescreen display which has the same native resolution as most 20-inch panels; ...
It's not cheap but it does have an impressive array of features, particularly when it comes to adjustment and connectivity and - with the HDCP support - a degree of future-proofing too.
The 215TW comes with an impressive array of connectors; DVI (with HDCP support), analogue 15-pin D-sub, a set of component video connectors, left and right audio input, composite video and S-Video, all of which means there isn't a lot you can't......

This is a widescreen display that's well orth checking out
Great colour rendering, Extensive input options, Fast input switching (one button), 21-inch widescreen aspect
Weak speakers, MagicBright modes a bit gimmicky
The Source button, on the other hand, is useful, especially if you have a variety of extra media inputs for the 215TW, like TV or an external DVD player. The DVI input is also HDCP compliant so you are future- proofed should copyright-protected HD ...
In a nutshell, the Samsung SyncMaster 21-inch 215TW is definitely worth checking out as an upgrade from a budget display, but don't be lured in by the multimedia pitch; it would have been cheaper and better as a straightforward display. The 215TW...

A big step up from the SM205BW, the SM215TW adds a whole lot more than an extra inch of screen diagonal....
No USB hub ; lacking in brightness for viewing at a distance
The Samsung SM215TWn is an excellent monitor that's a sensible size for most desktops, with superb image quality, good adjustment and comprehensive software

An excellent monitor with superb image quality
A big step up from the SM205BW, the SM215TW adds a whole lot more than an extra inch of screen diagonal. With the same native resolution of 1,680x1,050, you may wonder why this display costs an extra £155. Despite a rather similar outward appearance, ...
Unlike Sony's MFM-HT205 which is a hybrid TV product, the SM215TW looks and functions like a normal desktop monitor. A big step up from the SM205BW, the SM215TW adds a whole lot more than an extra inch of screen diagonal. Advertisement The...

I would have to say that the higher price that the 215TW comes with is money well spent. The image quality is slightly better, and the connectivity options are in another league altogether. Probably the only downside to the 215TW is the lack of USB 2 ...

We know you've been fretting the Vista-mandated upgrade to an HDCP monitor (haven't you'), but according to this review of Samsung's new 21-inch widescreen addition to the prolific Syncmaster series, the transition shouldn't be that tough. At 1680 x ...
At 1680 x 1050, the resolution is average, even for smaller 20-inch models, but the expanded range of physical adjustability and a bevy of connection options, including DVI, D-SUB, component video and S-Video can at least make up for the expectedly...

A 21" widescreen LCD that hits the sweet spot for gaming.
After firing up DisplayMate, it became apparent that the image quality was extremely good. It passed through every test with flying colours, allowing us to get past these boring tests rapidly, and right into the good stuff gaming and DVD viewing! ...
Perhaps it's because we've also got the graphical grunt to run our games smoothly at these resolutions that I'm now ready to make the switch ? there's no need to run the 215TW at lesser, scaled resolutions if you've got a nice SLI setup.
