The Sony Ericsson W890i Walkman phone could go down in mobile phone history as one of the best Sony Ericsson handsets ever. It greatly improves upon its W880i predecessor with a solid, slim casing and we argue that you could even replace your MP3 ...
Thin design ; relatively large screen ; HSDPA ; excellent music player
Lack of flash on the camera ; no Wi-Fi
Sony Ericsson's last attempt at making a thin Walkman phone had us yearning for something more refined, and this is it. The Sony Ericsson W890i combines a slim and solid design with useful features and the all important Walkman functionality
Hannspree has made a name for itself by making a range of wacky portable TVs in the shape of helicopters, giraffes and even an elephant, complete with a trunk. This time around, it drops the novelty act to produce a no-nonsense 32-incher, the XV32...

The Sony Ericsson W890i is 3G walkman based mobile phone and comes available in a choice of three colour options. The W890i is very cool and stylish, only weighing 78g making it nice and compact. The walkman system is the main feature of the handset ...

Does this Walkman phone hit the spot?
Compact, HSDPA, Walkman, looks great
Some controls might not suit larger fingers, no 3.5mm socket
Lovingly wrapped in brushed metal, the W890i oozes an elegance that is missing from many of its contemporaries; it doesn't boast about its features, it just delivers them
As is normal with Sony Ericsson phones, you have to use the handsfree dongle as there is no 3.5mm jack which is a negative point. As we mentioned in our First Look review of this phone, Sony Ericsson aimed it at an "older" 25-40-year-old...

Design is clearly the focus on the W890i and it's where this Walkman truly shines. At the same time, we can't deny that the W890i is also a solid handset. If you can live with its mediocre camera, this Walkman phone is a keeper.
Chic and slim design ; brushed metal finish ; improved usability ; bundled with 2GB Memory Stick Micro M2 ; 3.5mm adapter accessory ; HSDPA ; Bluetooth stereo
Proprietary connector port on the left edge ; M2 card slot behind battery cover ; mediocre camera features
We like the snappy feel of the keypad

Sony Ericsson makes two kinds of Walkman handset: touch-screen smartphones such as the W960i (reviewed in What's New, Shopper 246), and normal music handsets. The W890i is the latest in the music handset line, and replaces the W880i.
The W890i is a great music phone with a surprisingly good web browser. It's also free on a fairly inexpensive contract, so it wins a Best Buy award.

Sony Ericsson doesn't always get its handset design right, and this is particularly the case when it comes to the number pad buttons. Often in the past we've found these buttons to be too small for ...
There are plenty of features in this mobile phone, but what really makes it stand out is the superb design. Small and shiny, it is light and usable. If you don't need a sophisticated camera in your phone it could be ideal.
Sony Ericsson - W890i features - VerdictThere are plenty of features in this mobile phone, but what really makes it stand out is the superb design. If there is a design let-down it is the Sony Ericsson proprietary headset connector. But here, in...

Sandra thinks it's one of the best Sony Ericsson phones to sport the Walkman brand. Find out why.
This is probably the best handset I've seen in Sony Ericsson's Walkman range. I'd like a bigger screen now that 3.5G web browsing is a reality, but I don't want the buttons compromised to get it. And on the camera front - well, maybe it is time for ...
The W890i is another of Sony Ericsson's Walkman branded handsets and it's a testament to the sheer number of mobiles coming along for review at the moment that it didn't push its way to the front of the queue when it arrived in my hands. Something...

The latest addition to the popular Sony Ericsson Walkman range, but will the W890i prove to be a cut above the rest, or just another music phone?…
As has become expected from the Walkman range, the music features are excellent, but it ; s the ultra-fast HSDPA that really sets the W890i apart
The Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot range provides much better cameras
Sony Ericsson has improved an already excellent handset. It really is hard to fault the W890i, from its über-slim design, cracking internet capabilities, Google Maps and of course the built-in music player. A truly accomplished handset.
